Gifting for Fun!!

Gifting it Forward

Hey guys!  I saw this post on my friend Jessie's  Blog and I just had to participate!

gifting it forward

So what's the deal and what's it all about?  Well, it's about gifting it forward, a way to give more than you receive ;)

Here’s how it works: I get a gift from Jessie, then I give a gift to 3 people, those 3 people give a gift to three people each which makes 9 people and so on and so on. So, the first three peopleto comment on this post will receive a gift from me. It may be something that I wish someone would give to me or it might be something that I already own and love and want to share with you!

The RULES:
  • Within a year, I’ll share a gift with the first three people to comment on this post.
  • In order to receive your present you have to play along.  Spread the love on your own blog promising to send a little special something to the first three people who comment on your blog post.
  • You’ll have 72 hours to post about it on your blog, or I’ll have to move on to the next person.
  • You also must make sure I have a way to contact you (ie. send me your email, or I can contact you on facebbok, etc.)
These are the rules set forth by somebody somewhere back in the links of links of links. They are what they are and they shouldn't be changed.

So, who wants to play???

Rubber Bands

This has been quite the week for me. I've learned a lot about myself, and I've been stretching my wings a little more. We've all been asked, "what are you going to do with your life? what do you want to be when you grow up? what matters most to you? what is your ultimate goal?"

I've been thinking about these types of questions lately. Any one who knows me very well. Especially, my sweet family, will tell you I am all over the place. I start one thing, I get bored or it doesn't go my way, and I move on to the next thing that catches my eye. SQUIRREL. :)

When I was a little girl, I took an art class and it was the same way. I would start a painting, and as I'm working on it, a new idea would fall across my path, and I'd lose focus on the thing I was working on. Imagine if you will, the little girl at the Easter Egg Hunt, who is SO excited. She starts collecting eggs on the ground, and a shiny wrapper in a tree catches her eye. She tries to climb the tree to reach the shiny wrapped treat, but then a bigger brighter egg over under a bush flashes at her. Even though climbing the tree wasn't easy. She didn't quit, because it was hard. She quit because she saw something different she wanted. Follow? I think that was a pretty good analogy.

I was home schooled up until my middle school years, and I started to ween into "the system". Though I truly did love a lot of things about school, I HATED when they made you fill out the 'future plans' packets, and speak with a parent and a counselor to discuss your 'road map'. Are you kidding me? My future career was changing as often as my teenage, estrogen driven, hormonal mood swings.

Because of this tendency to get excited and passionate about new things in a tree, and then stop half way up the tree and collect the bigger shiny egg on the ground. People half noticed my lack of follow through. The way I see it? Not everyone can be Tape and Glue and Staples. Sometimes... we need rubber bands. Someone to snap back and be flexible enough to go a different direction! (Ooo, that was good too.)

I recognize that there will come a time when I have to stop whipping in different directions, and have my priorities straight. I will be a wife. I will be a mom. And when that day comes, I will be happy to the tips of my toes. THAT is my goal in life. I know how absolutely cliche that is, (and it is against my nature to be or want a cliche) but I accept that. I dream awake and asleep of my future children. Even more then I've ever dreamnt of my husband. I know that THAT is my priority. And for everyone around me watching me run in circles, and trying new things. Just smile and watch. You don't have to join my chaos. You don't have to JUDGE my chaos. Just be patient, and love me anyway. Because I don't love you any less for you lifestyles. I don't love you any less because you are happy doing one thing for the rest of your life.

I love YOU.
I hope you Love me too!

Grateful

I am GRATEFUL!!

1. warmly or deeply appreciative of kindness or benefitsreceived; thankful: I am grateful to you for your help.
2. expressing or actuated by gratitude: a grateful letter.
3. pleasing to the mind or senses; agreeable or welcome;refreshing: a grateful breeze.
Today I am grateful for many things. It is a beautiful fall season. And I think it is the richest season of them all. Harvest season. Prelude to Christmas season. Hunting season. The rich color season. And more!

  • I am grateful for the sunshine streaming through my window. Though I am afflicted with a gentle cold, I am warm and relaxed.

  • I am grateful for my family. Each and everyone one of them is dear to me. Mom, Dad, Holly, Peter, Savannah, Faith, and Hope. My life would not be as rich without every single one of you. I pray that come what may we stick together and grow closer through our trials and our triumphs.
  • I am grateful for my roommates. Susie, Lena, and Jeff in the basement. We are a little family. And I love our late gatherings in the kitchen.
  • I am grateful that Lena taught me some Russian yesterday. As we visited Pumpkinland. (her first corn maze) And ran errands, I learned to say 'I love you' and 'You are my sunshine' in russian.
  • I am grateful for the 5 dates I went on this week. I was kept on my toes all week long, and it was a lot of fun getting to know some new guys.
  • I am grateful for my dear cousin Ben. We have grown so close and I love him so much. I am excited to share the hunting adventures with him, and master a skill set together.
  • I am grateful for the deer that stubbornly insist on devouring my poor Grantpa's crop; that we received a total of 6 permits this year. That I can master the gutting and butchering of a deer, and put meat in my family's freezers.
  • I am grateful to Chase Palfreyman. Though I try to hate him, I am grateful for everything I have learned since knowing him. Hunting, shooting, history, healing, PATIENCE and more. (I'm sure he doesn't read this, so anyone who does, and knows him. Please don't tell him. I'd rather he thinks I've moved on completely and am doing my best to hate him.)
  • I am grateful for the scents of fall. For the candles I have burning all the time at home. For the crunchy leaves outside. For the end of season and the drying out in the fields. For the dust. For the cinnamon. For the rain. For the warm blankets out of the dryer.
  • I am grateful for sunflower seeds. They are a great-ever-present snack in my life. A lot of work for the little reward of that great taste. A low calorie munchie.
  • I am grateful for my testimony in the gospel of Jesus Christ.
  • I am grateful for the opportunity to listen to General Conference last week. And the upcoming ensign to read and reread the teachings of the living apostles.
  • I am grateful for my new friend Missy. She came over to help Susie last night, and spent hours of service helping each of us girls in different ways.
  • I'm so grateful for my Sub Zero family. Marianne, Jasmine, Tiani, and Taylor. You help me be a better manager, and a better person. I wish the best for each and everyone one of you. And I love working with all of you!
  • I am grateful for the Logan kiddos. They make me so happy, and I love every second I get to spend with you.
  • I am grateful for Royal, Jenn, Shiloh and Rachel. You are my dear friends and supporters. You are wonderful examples to me. And always there. I know I can call on each of you if I need to.

  • I am grateful for the forgiveness of my loyal (at least I think they're loyal) blog readers. Please keep the faith, let me know you're there, and share with me what you are grateful for this Sabbath day!

We've had a rodent problem lately. This pumpkin came in, and I think it looks like a mouse took refuge in the warts. :)

In blogging as in journaling; for me once I get behind and feel intimidated to try and catch up... I don't. And then get further and further behind. To catch up this time I will just share photos and captions of what's been going on.
My bestie little sister Faith turned 14 on sunday. We had a lovely day.  I love Faith Christine Taylor so much!! The following is a montage of photos I took of photos of her. :D I love you Faithy!

I love her!

Faith was definitely our chunkiest kiddo in the family, but that is not indication of anything.
She is now the most darlingest athletic-est out of us all! :D

We cutie make each other laughs!

New sunday dresses and Faith wants to be like her big sisters.

So Cute!

She was such a daredevil when it came to the trampoline.
I remember Peter teaching her how to do a FLIP when she was just 3 or 4!!

I've always thought I was closest to her. And I like the proof of that in this picture. :)

Pumpkinland!

Bless her heart, Tresa has been helping Faith realize her potential for over a decade now!
I am so forever grateful for her investment in Faith.

Easter time. Baby bunnies. Happy dresses.
Pumpkinland!

Yes. I love all my sisters.

Boo Hoo Hoo

Yeah yeah. I'm like 6 days behind my goal for the 60 best days of my year. Whatev. I'll catch up soon enough. It's 2 am right now. I've taken my sleepy things and they aren't making me sleepy. Love life, life isn't always easy. I know it's worth it. My climb just got a little steep this week. Like I said before, tough. I'll catch up. Sorry for anyone who was getting to love my posts. Sit on the edge of their seat kind of posts. I'll talk to you soon. Holla.

Tough

Last year at this time. I had just returned from CA, I moved into my Grandparents creepy basement. I fell head-over-shoes for a cowboy. I learned to hunt. I worked at Sub Zero on weekends. Found a new friend in Melissa Jones. And worked PumpkinLand. Last year was a great, great fall. It also threw me two curveballs, and my batting skills were not quite up to par to cope. Falling for the before mentioned cowboy had it's residual fall out effect. And I also lost my other baby. Not as in a child, in my womb. No. You all should know me better than that. Last October I said farewell to my girl Molly. My fat-lazy-good-for-nothing-whiny precious cat. I loved that girl.

Molly went missing last September after I turned her out of the house one day. (that's not enough of a guilt trip) Then just a day after I really had accepted that I would not be seeing her again, my sister called to tell me the neighbors found her. I went home to her that night and was thrilled. A couple days passed and I got another call. Nanna was panicking. Molly was seizuring. I took her to the vet. They gave her an IV over night to re hydrate her from the "being lost" trauma. Next day I was in W.Valley taking my hunters safety course. As I was driving home the Vet called to give me the results (or lack thereof) from all the tests they'd done. Molly was essentially a healthy cat. Except that she had a neurological disorder. Not something the common neighborhood vet can fix. And that to find it out and treat her accordingly would involve a SLC vet, MRI's and lots and lots of money I didn't have.

I returned to Orem. Cried a lot. Talked with my sister and that cowboy. I decided that the very best thing I could do for her was to return her to our Father in Heaven and her brother Sam who had passed a few years ago. (That was the first, most traumatic event in my life) Holly drove me to collect her, I held her in my arms a long time. I talked to her. I smelled her special Molly smell some more. And then cowboy drove us out to a lovely field. We ended her life quick and more painless and peaceful then a shot of venom to the heart from the vet. I did the plot up nice and there her body will go the way of the earth until another time. I know that she is in a beautiful, peaceful place with her brother. And a God who loves all creatures great and small.

....Well that's all well and good. I know I did the best for her with what I could. I don't think maybe that was the best decision for me. I've dealt with the guilt and pain of that on and off for a year now. I'm normally all right, and peace and acceptance. I don't plan to love another creature any time soon. It painful and I don't like the fall out. I having trouble sleeping this week and it's just a little tough. I'm okay. It's just tough.

Terrific Tuesdays!

I'll take mine with Raspberry Nectarine Jam, with a touch of Nutmeg.
This morning.

Dancing to Cole, Frank, Bing, Luis, and more.
Susie and I twirling around the living room.
Our men already dressed in a handsome Tux!

I had some SPARK.

We watched Ricky Gervais be funny.

I made Orange Rolls!!!

Also. I kind of am getting the Sock Bun Curls figured out. Too bad I work where I can't leave them down to be B-U-T-Full!

Still trying to figure out how to tuck all my layers in, but this. is. Progress. :D

Even in Australia

 Warning: Gross picture.

This is what I've been battling every morning and night for the past nearing on a week.

I am going to the eye doctor tomorrow morning. Aside from being uncomfortable, my vision in my left eye has experienced a rapid decline in acuteness. :(

No Bueno.

I got to work yesterday after the great M.I.A. key disaster and this is what greeted me. Seriously?!
I knew that the Dr.Pepper I'd come equipped with was certainly not going to help me handle this disaster. So I quickly moved on.

---As a side not, have you ever noticed that when you drink soda out of one of these paper cups, whether it's coke or pepsi, it still ends up with the essence of paper cup in your drink before you even get to the end of it.--- :( Very disappointing. So I moved on.
SPARK! If ya'll haven't figured it out yet, this is my best friend. If you haven't received a sample yet, and I KNOW you haven't cause I would remember. You need to ask me. And if you live far ish away, that's all right. I'll send you one. They are amazing! Forget coffee, coke, pepsi, tea, monsters, rockstars etc....

My Mom keeps trying to talk me out of them, "if you can't start your day without them, it's not healthy!""

Yeah right. Mom! Try starting your day without you cheerios and raspberries. Just cause something makes your day go better, doesn't make it crack cocaine! :)
It wouldn't have been so awful except that the entire inside of the refrigerator and all the bag in the vinicinity were infected with the cream epidemic. :)
2 hours later. *SIGH* I've earned my rescue clean up, managerial management badge today!!

*For the record. I got work off early, (Thanks Taylor!!) I went home after running a couple work errands, and I made soup and watched Forever Strong with Susie and Devin.

M.I.A

Today is just one of those days. I'm trying to refrain myself from foul words.
Day actually started great, and I was in a good mood.
I relaxed. I showered. I got ready for work. I was walking out the door to go to work.
BAM!
neener neener, universe here. Just checking in to say HAHA happy monday.
I took your keys, and I hid them. Also, you won't let any of your employees keep a store key, so NONE of them can work for you... except the one who accidently still has a key. Yeah no go there, she doesn't have a car and lives in Lehi.

Oh wait. You could go get the key. EXCEPT you. cant. drive. I took all your keys and hid them. HAHA.

Needless to say I'm stressed. I called the mall security and let them know I'd be late. I e-mailed the mall management and let them know too.

I have a sneaky suspicion of where said keys may be, but I can't get to them.

Sometimes life is cruel. That is where OASIS comes in. This lovely product from Advocare is a blessing! It is formulated with all natural ingredients. It tastes like blueberry. And it has saved my life 3 times this week.

Ladies, if you are one to flip out and be taken over by a cruel version of yourself on "that time of the month". This is a must have. I'm not kidding, it has saved me from the brink of despair earlier this week. Yesterday it helped soothe my migraine of epic proportions. And today when I started to flip out and hate myself thanks to universe-with-a-cynical-sense-of-humour. This was my go to.

Now I am sitting in my living room. Waiting for the solution to appear. I am much much calmer. I am even happy. I know that sometimes things happen. I feel bad that I can not open my store on time. And I will pay the consequences later. Hyperventilating. Crying. Not in the game plan anymore. I LOVE my ADVOCARE!

Classy.

I bet you haven't EVER felt as amazing as I do today, on a nutrition product?

I have had the munchies all day, even though I have been eating every 2 1/2 ish hours. You know why?

That bottle on the left, CATALYST? it jumps starts your metabolism, helps protect, tone and build muscle, and you CAN'T use it wrong or too much of it! Seriously?! Show me something else that does that.

The MNSMAX E  That is our metabolic nutrition system, energy version. I have been on cloud 9 for energy and focus today. And guess what else? When you FEEL  this good, and your body has proper nutrition... you are happier. I was tipped by EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. of my customers today. Sub zero was feeling the ADVOCARE  love.
So how did I curve the munchies?...

I made the same delicious ice cream that I LOVED  on saturday (german chocolate style) and you know what?
I did not love it so much this time. TOO Sweet?! I tossed it, and I ate a cup of almonds instead.

I want you to understand. I am NOT intentionally  cutting foods out of my routine. I have NO diet restrictions. I am on day 1  of giving my body World-class-supreme nutrition, and my body is saying, oh hey, I guess I don't want all that stupid sweet stuff that will go straight to my thighs anymore. And I am thinking.

I have now had another sleep works. I am curving my desire to go for a night run, and aiming to change my nature to stay up late, for a desire to get up early and be productive. Here is to a GREAT nights' sleep. THANKS to ADVOCARE!

Weekend Stash

It looked pretty well like it worked.

And it kind of did. My hair is so fine (not thin) it didn't hold the curl very long. I think I just need to start damper and add product to it to hold it a little more chunky. :) Still; I'm grateful to have learned this new trick. Thanks Taylor!

Friday I picked berries with Sanna, and coming home to do a huge batch of salsa I got some sprite. Just fresh Raspberries and sprite. Yummy, crisp, and SO delicious!

This is my personal stash! Red labels = active , Blue = performance elite/athletics, Purple = Trim, Green = wellness.
Tonight I'm super super excited to be trying the Sleep Works. I'm taking it now, just about 8:30pm. Let you know tomorrow how well it works.

I am so thoroughly absolutely excited for the new me, the new runner, the new financial makeover. Tomorrow or tuesday I will post weight inches, etc... and my product regimen as I start conditioning and training for my Ultramarathon.

I figure the more I post here, the more people I have to be accountable to, instead of flaking when it gets hard.

All 3 of these boxes are brimming with samples and kits. You all should be excited to try some. I know you  WILL NOT be able to resist! :)

Sock Bun Trick.

So. I am attempting to curl my hair using the sock bun trick. I saw this posted on a friends facebook page and was curious so I watched this tutorial. Tonight is attempt number two. The first time worked-ish, but because of my layers it was hard to tuck my hair in.

This is my friends hair. ...I was obviously intrigued when she said it took 3 minutes.
This is what my hair looks like tonight. We shall see what the morning holds. :)

I Told You So

I have to say, I told you so, See, I do love ORANGEAnd as it's my FAVORITE time of the year, we are going to see how many days in a row
I can incorporate my favorite color into my favorite 'remaining' 47 days of the year!!

I take this awkward-immodest-angry looking Photo for a reason.
I am trying to demonstrate not the level of 'burnt'-ness on my arm and shoulder.
It is the level of numbness. I am icing my arm and going to bed early.

The angry look is because I was trying to contact someone and somehow couldn't spare the concentration to smile at the same time. :D  <- thus I smile now.

Breakfast?

It might take until 11 to find the initiative,
but BOY OH BOY it was worth it
Well my days of work take all my time.

My day offs, are usually more relaxed then I intend.

Today I WILL be productive.

I really want to run. This shoulder thing is NOT my friend.

Its kind of a constant barely there ache, and then I
move the wrong way and YOWWIE!

I will attempt to run!

I'm working a couple hours at the store for Taylor, so she can go to her practice, and play in the game tomorrow.

I'm going to finish my book; First Steps to Wealth

I'm going to write 2 letters. One to Faify and one to Blueberry.

but FIRST let's make a half decent attempt at breakfast.... or at 11 o' clock. I guess it's Brunch  now.
