Happy Birthday to Me!!!

I almost made my goal. I did not blog every single day since Valentines Day, but I did much better than I ever have. There is not a good reason for my inconsistencies, and I can't definitively say whats kept me. I am always exhausted. I am in a funk. Mostly it's sleep issues, and that makes everything else more difficult, and my health much much harder to maintain.

On a brighter note. I turned 20 this week. Last week was amazing with my best friend Vanessa, and she left early sunday morning. I slept late, and then went to my family's house for a big dinner. I was only missing Older sister Holly and my sweet friend Melissa. My wonderful family was there. My cousins Ben and Dan and their lovely ladies. My bugger of a friend Chase graced us with his presence. And Grandma and Grandpa even came out to see us. It was a delicious dinner. Corned beef, potatoes, carrots, and cabbage. Fruit salad, Garden salad, and Savannah even made some amazing homemade bread. Yumm!! I had my favorite cherry chip cake with homemade chocolate/almond buttercream frosting. Thanks Hopey! You did a great job darling.

My actual birthday was on Tuesday. I woke after a rough night and decided I could pass on institute. I let myself eat just a teeny bit for breakfast making sure it'd stay down and enjoyed a lazy morning. I didn't have any special plans, and it just worked out that Nanna could take me for my birthday date. We went to Red Riding Hood. I really liked it. Even though you know the story, it keeps you guessing. It had a little too much of a Twilight-esque feeling to it. But that's to be expected coming from the same studio and director.

I was feeling off and queasy again afterwards. So we grabbed a quick bite to eat and I headed home. No plans. I decided to 'rent' some friends. A quick stop at Redbox, and 3 movies for company. The Tourist, The Switch and Secretariat. All were spectacular!! 3 different genres and they met and exceeded my expectations.

Mommy happened to catch me when I was telling Faith what NOT to do. :/

For me?

Yes. I did fail to blow out all the 7 candles on my 20th birthday cake. :)

Dan and his cute Lexie

Oh. We are so silly.

This was truly delicious! Thanks Hopey!

Ah! Ain't he a handsome bloke.

Ben and his lovely Jessica

My amazing grandparents. I owe them so much. I love them so much.

She is silly. I luvf her!

Only brother and baby sister.

Mom with her baby.

We look pretty good together I think.

I think we just don't like sitting too close. Haha.

O so silly. :D

Mom, "A real man would let me take the picture."
Poor Dan couldn't say no.

Goofiness before our movie. :) Love you Nanna!
It was a relaxed way to celebrate the two decades I've had learning and growing on this beautiful planet. I am so grateful for my family. I love each and everyone of them so very much. I'm grateful for the blessings God has given me, and all the people in my life that have helped me become who I am, and will stick with me as I continue this journey. Happy Birthday!!

Bittersweet

It's been a very very bittersweet week.
My best friend in the whole world drove up from Vegas to spend an entire week with me! :)
So far our week looks like this.
I get home from work late saturday night after battling a toothache all day. I take fabulously drastic and powerful drugs that do their job and knock me out. Vanessa gets in about 1 am sunday morning.
Sunday we go to church, and then spend a terrific afternoon with the Logans, Petersens, Holly, Marianne, Dan and all the kiddos that come with that group.
Monday we sleep in late late. We went to Tucanos with Chase to 'celebrate' my birthday and eat amazing food. Because I am still taking lots of beautiful drugs to keep my toothache away we napped again. We finally get up and go out for a girls night with Holly. (already posted about that fun)
Tuesday slept late again. :) Walked through the new house that is just 5 weeks from being done. Went to Sub Zero with Holly and Mitch. Took Vanessa to sign papers to sell Pest Control with me this summer!!! :) Then we went to babysit the Logan kids. Loved it! They are so much fun. So well behaved. And so so darling.
I was in and out of it all night. And Vanessa started to develop a sore throat and we hit the sack once we got home.
Wednesday, Vanessa was not feeling good at all, but we pulled ourselves out of bed and went up to Salt Lake to meet Marissa for lunch. It was wonderful to be all together again. And sad that it was so short. I was getting anxious and my mouth was hurting after lunch so I took one of my hydrocodone pills and let Vanessa drive us home. We stopped at the health food store and then headed to Mapleton.
4 hours later with no toothache and a very sore jaw I left the dentist. We stayed at my Mom's house so we could get all doctored up from her.
Today we lounged about. Vanessa still fighting the flu and some sore throat. I did the dishes, showered, and we both ate a bit of brunch, and then took a couple hours to sleep more. Then Hopey took us to a movie. We went to Tangled at the dollar theater. It was a darling movie. I think I want it for my collection. I loved getting out with my bestie and my little sis. Luckily the nausea subsided and I was able to enjoy.
It's been so wonderful having Vanessa here. I hope that we are both tiptop shape tomorrow. I'm so grateful that we are good enough friends that we don't have to be partying to enjoy each other. Crashing in bed or in front of the fire and just being in one another's company is pretty fantastic.
Here's to a great weekend, and more good times!
Probably not the smartest health choice, but we stopped for an ice cream after the movie. :)
